All About John
Bronx-born John Piscitello is a composer, music producer, bass player, and pianist.
He has scored numerous comedy and documentary films and series, including Hulu’s comedy showbiz docs Too Funny to Fail: The Life & Death of The Dana Carvey Show, and Becoming Bond, about the rise and fall of George Lazenby becoming 007.
John’s gaming / interactive scores include Eko’s comedies Wizard School Dropout and That Moment When.
John’s documentary scores bring heart to the most dramatic stories. In Mike Wallace is Here, pulsing electronica conveys the restless drive behind the 60 Minutes newsman’s confrontational career. World percussion grooves drive Unseen Enemy, the CNN Film that foresaw the consequences of global pandemic. His unflinching orchestral score for Magnolia’s No Place on Earth lights the WWII story of a Jewish family surviving in Ukraine’s pitch-black caves.
His latest work includes the romantic comedy series Sexpectations, streaming on Tubi, featuring a magnificent symphonic orchestra in the style of classic Hollywood films. He also collaborated with Aalok Mehta to create the hybrid east-west score for DesiQuest, an actual-play Dungeon & Dragons show featuring an all South Asian cast.
Born a city kid, John now lives with his family in Pacific Palisades, but will someday move to Topanga (if the renovations ever get approved!).
