I scored episodes of the interactive comedy series That Moment When. The makers of the platform Eko received an investment from Walmart. Working with Eko’s platform, I found it smooth and solid.
It’s also rich with creative possibilities, especially for comedy, where replaying the episodes with different choices lets you discover the treasure trove of jokes coming from the writers’ room.
Dana Carvey talked “Too Funny To Fail” with Stephen Colbert. Dana sort of discovered Stephen, hiring him for Dana’s ABC sketch show back in the 90s, so they go way back. The best way to watch this is the full, unedited interview, with CBS posted, it’s 20 minutes of great stories.
That Moment When was nominated for a Best Use of Interactive Video award. The Webbys are determined by online vote, and TMW is in hot and heavy competition with Portugal The Man’s “Feel It Still” interactive version. The winner’s announced April 24th.
As a former UI guy, I look for two things in these interactive videos – are the mechanics easy to figure out, and whether the interactivity is key to the enjoyment of the video. Check them all out and see.
Dinner with the Alchemist screened at GenreBlast Film Festival in Virginia on August 19th, and came away with two awards: Best Actress for Dionne Audain, and Best Feature Screenplay for Jenna St. John.
